TCC Celebrates Veterans with Veterans Recognition Week

November 11th marks Veterans Day. At TCC we don’t observe just one day. We celebrate veterans with an entire week, from the 10th to the 14th. With Joint Base Lewis-McChord only 10 miles away, a significant student population is either a veteran or family of a veteran. “We have 731 students who are veterans,” says Frank McDougald, TCC’s Veteran Program Specialist. “In my opinion, responsiveness, flexibility and institutional commitment to service members and veterans are critical for retaining veteran students and insuring that veteran students achieve their academic goals.” Recently, TCC was named to the list of 2015 Military Friendly schools. As part of Veterans Recognition Week our campus community is able to participate in an activity each day.   Monday, 11/10 Flag Raising 8am, Building 3   Veterans Resource Fair 10-11am, Building 11   Wednesday Workshop: Be In The Know: Veterans Benefits and Purpose 12:30-1:30pm, Building 7 room 223   Thursday Workshop: Financial Management 12:30-1:30pm, Building 7 room 223   Friday 50 Years of Music Dance 6-9pm, Building 11   Join us in honoring veterans here at TCC. Una Voce: New Website

Una Voce has been a physical publication for many years, but the time has come to bring it into the digital world. A dedicated website will be launching shortly. By moving to an online presence in addition to the printed magazine, Una Voce will be able to highlight more student work and provide another angle to the publication. The Una Voce project is driven by students and having a website will enable to them to get valuable experience in digital publication. Christopher Arthur of Push Eject Design, a TCC and Una Voce supporter, provided the initial website design. Look for the website to launch...
