TCC Celebrates Veterans with Veterans Recognition Week

TCC Celebrates Veterans with Veterans Recognition Week

November 11th marks Veterans Day. At TCC we don’t observe just one day. We celebrate veterans with an entire week, from the 10th to the 14th. With Joint Base Lewis-McChord only 10 miles away, a significant student population is either a veteran or family of a veteran.

“We have 731 students who are veterans,” says Frank McDougald, TCC’s Veteran Program Specialist. “In my opinion, responsiveness, flexibility and institutional commitment to service members and veterans are critical for retaining veteran students and insuring that veteran students achieve their academic goals.” Recently, TCC was named to the list of 2015 Military Friendly schools.

As part of Veterans Recognition Week our campus community is able to participate in an activity each day.
